Phoenix is the 6th studio album by American rock band Grand Funk Railroad, released on September 15, 1972, by Capitol Records. The album was produced by the band and marks their 1st album without producer Terry Knight. "Rock & Roll Soul" was released as a single and peaked at #29 on the US Billboard Hot 100 in 1972. Craig Frost who played organ, clavinet, harpsichord, and piano as an additional musician will become the band's member on their next album We're an American Band.
