Pwnery's Firearm Reviews - Smith & Wesson Model 10 Time Capsule from 1962

Hello, and welcome back to my channel. Today's Pwnery's Firearms Reviews is actually one of the very first I ever recorded for the "other platform that's no longer friendly to our community." This is a Smith & Wesson Model 10 revolver in .38 Special - which for most folks would be "nothing special," however the story of this particular piece is what made it interesting. From how I acquired it, to how it was "De-activated," unbeknownst to the owner for several decades, and how I quickly, and easily brought it back to working order.

After running the serial number of the frame, I was able to determine that this was indeed manufactured in 1962, and had never been fired even once (this pre-dates spent cartridge requirements by a LONG WAY).

As much as I loved it, it went to a friend of mine with a greater need for it at the time than I had, and I couldn't bring myself to scorch that beautiful bluing on it either. At the time I recorded this video, 7 years have elapsed, and I'm 100% certain it still hasn't been fired even once. My friend who was in his early 70's at the time, handed this to his wife as a purse gun, and in less than 6 months, she purchased something smaller in size that was a little more practical. It is my understanding that if and when the time comes, I'll be re-inheriting this time capsule some day.

...anyway, disregard some of the older references in the beginning and end of the video as most of those places are a bit outdated by now, but thank you all for watching, sharing, following, and hearing my story on this one.
