The launchpad for this message is Joshua 24:14. “Now therefore fear the LORD, and serve Him in sincerity and in truth: and put away the gods which your fathers served on the other side of the flood, and in Egypt; and serve ye the LORD.” Three points of “fearing the Lord” are expounded on. The second part of the Scripture is “serving Him in sincerity and truth”. She gives excellent examples to this point, with special emphasis on being an armor bearer. The third part deals with “putting away the gods”. We cannot have any idols in our lives. This is about turning away from anything that competes with God and giving full attention, obedience and love to God. She shares touching personal testimony concerning an idol of being a “time waster”. She spent thirteen years of her life being hooked on a game where she found a new life, home and escape there. And then God showed her how that open door in her life had allowed the enemy to attack her children. In His mercy and grace, and through her obedience to give up that idol, God resolved the problems in her children.
