This is derived from a track recorded by our previous incarnation, Academy 23, for a curious project instigated by Chris Willlsher: a double album of various artists and groups recording their own versions of tracks by Crass. I loathe and detest the ‘music’ of Crass and I find their politics preposterous although, to be fair, most of the people involved in the group were kind, generous, honest and basically decent. I have retained the parts recorded by Nathan and Pete (who arranged the piece between them), added my own vocal in the background and faffed about with what was previously a long (indeed far too long) instrumental section at the end which consisted of Cynthia Size A noodling. This is a curiosity whose text I fundamentally disagree with but musically it is effective.
