The creator of the show allegedly is a 33 rd degree Ma$on and their belief system is that if they tell us, before doing something bad to us, and we don't do anything to stop them, this absolves them of the karmic consequences of their evil actions. They call this the Revelation of (the) method.

Of course they're only fooling themselves, because they have been fooled by the devil and other dark entities they worship.

Remember: the devil is a trickster and tricks everyone. Its followers included. Eternity will not be pleasant for anyone who does evil.
