Mariposa Fat Bike Trails in Rio Rancho New Mexico. Keep singletrack single & tread lightly. Remember, if you don’t have a Fat Bike there’s plenty of trail up on the mesa top for traditional tire mtbs. Just avoid dropping into the badlands and damaging the trail system. Down there the trails in the badlands are very soft and easy damaged without fatter tires. Badlands area is Fat Bike specific due to the fragile and erosive nature of that ecosystem. Skinny tires will cut through the soft soils like a “hot knife through butter” while the fatter tires with ~7 psi (low pressure) will float on top of the soft trails without leaving a trace.
