'Felix' the Signaller | RT Documentary

‘‘Felix’ the Signaller’ is a documentary about a young radio reconnaissance soldier at the frontline – call sign ‘Felix’. The camera follows him over the course of a single combat mission, capturing every moment of his work in the SMO zone. With the help of the ‘Timso’ communications unit of the Akhmat special forces, led by a commander of the same name, Felix provides vital links between frontline units.

The film shows that signalmen don’t work from the safety of the rear – their job includes risk, pressure, and responsibility. It’s a portrait of one man who achieves the impossible – silently, precisely, and under fire.

Signalmen are scouts, technicians, and radio operators all in one. They set up communications equipment, move with assault teams, and gather intelligence. Their work is just as dangerous as that of any frontline soldier.
