Welcome to album ranking Wednesdays once again here on the channel! So tonight I am doing a ranking for DOWN! And you know what man? Down are one of the greatest southern sludge metal bands on the fucking planet. Whether you love Phil Anselmo or whether you hate him. His Impact on heavy metal is undeniable and his track record speaks for itself. The guy is 100% fucking real and this is the reason he is tied for my #1 frontman of all time along with the legendary Ronnie James Dio.
To me Phil Anselmo has a very similar vision for metal that Ronnie always had. Phil’s vision is very clear and his mission has always been to bring honest balls to the wall extreme music to the people who need it and who understand his pain and relate to what he talks about.
The man is a fucking musical genius plain and simple. Whether it’s Scour, Down, Superjoint,Pantera, Viking Crowm,Phil Anselmo and the illegals, or his brand new depressive rock project “En Minor” which by the way is nothing short of godly. The mans genius just simply cannot be disputed and his legacy will live on forever much like his comrades in arms Rex, Vinny, and Dimebag who are among the greatest musicians of all time ladies and gentleman.
