On July 10, 2025, U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) agents, supported by other federal personnel from the Department of Homeland Security (DHS) and possibly U.S. Customs and Border Protection (CBP), executed a major immigration raid at Glass House Farms, a cannabis and agricultural facility on Laguna Road in Camarillo, Ventura County, California.

The Camarillo raid commenced early Thursday morning, with agents sealing off roads, entering the facility, and detaining numerous farmworkers suspected of being undocumented. Workers were reportedly confined in sweltering containers without air conditioning, and agents pursued and arrested individuals in the fields. Glass House Farms, which cultivates cannabis, tomatoes, and cucumbers under legal permits, cooperated with ICE search warrants but offered limited details.

Word of the raid spread rapidly, attracting hundreds of protesters—family members, locals, and immigrant rights activists—by mid-morning. The crowd, peaking at around 500 and dwindling to about 200 by evening, obstructed roads and confronted agents to disrupt the proceedings.

A critical incident involved a protester firing a gun toward agents, captured on video from a news helicopter and shared by groups like the 805 Immigrant Coalition. No agents were injured by gunfire. The Ventura County Sheriff's Office handled traffic but deferred the shooting investigation to federal authorities.

FBI has issued a $50,000 award for information leading to the conviction of an Unknown Subject who appeared to fire a pistol at Federal Law Enforcement Officers near Camarillo. The shooting occurred on 7/10/25 at approximately 2:26pm on Laguna Rd between Wood Rd and Las Posas Rd.
