Astral Knight 24: U.S. Airmen Strengthen Air Defense Integration in Romania

U.S. Air Force Airmen assigned to the 31st Fighter Wing operate from Câmpia Turzii, Romania, during Exercise Astral Knight 24 (AK24) from May 10–14, 2024.

AK24 focuses on enhancing interoperability, maneuverability, and real-time integration between U.S. forces and NATO Allies. The exercise showcases U.S. Air Forces in Europe’s (USAFE) commitment to deploying advanced sensors, radar systems, and surveillance technologies to strengthen integrated air and missile defense throughout the region. These capabilities are critical to maintaining a ready and resilient posture across Europe.
