GTA 5: Game won't respond to Xbox controller-Date 5/19/2018

For some reason when I wake my console and push resume, quite often the game won't respond to the controller. This usually happens after leaving it set for an extended period of time such as overnight. Even quitting the game and reloading it doesn't always help. I find the only way to resolve this and get the game to respond to the controller is to quit the game and sign all of the way out of my account and then log back in and launch the game. This usually always woks for me. So even before I start the game after an extended is to quit the game and do the procedure to save time.
