And Among You Are Those Who Listen to Them — A Warning from Allah

"And among you are avid listeners to them. And Allah is Knowing of the wrongdoers."
(Surat At-Tawbah, verse 47)

This verse is a warning about hypocrites and their influence. It refers to those within the Muslim community who are receptive to the propaganda, lies, and doubts of the enemies of Islam — even while outwardly claiming Islam. These “listeners” give space in their hearts and minds to the enemies of Allah, absorbing and spreading their corruption from within. Allah ﷻ knows who they are, and He describes them as ẓālimūn (wrongdoers) — because their silence, sympathy, or collaboration aids falsehood.

It is a timeless warning for every era: Not all enemies of Islam stand outside — some are planted within, and their influence is often felt through those who eagerly listen to them.
