Six US Secret Service personnel have been suspended for security failures at Donald Trump’s rally in Butler, Pennsylvania, last year, where a gunman tried to assassinate him, killing one attendee and injuring others.

Trump was grazed by a bullet but survived.

The Secret Service called the event an “operational failure” and has since implemented reforms, including better aerial monitoring and coordination with local law enforcement, the BBC has reported.

The attack led to the resignation of the agency’s director and drew strong criticism from Congress for preventable lapses in security.
