The true events towards the last days of Jesus Christ.

What makes this particular film about Christ unique and poignant was the near death experience that the main actor, Jim Caviezel had through during the making of this movie.
It's noticeable nowadays that during Easter and Christmas that there are hardly any films dedicated to Christ anymore, and it's due to the amount of objections from various loud groups within the film industry itself and vested interests including the power structures. Unlike earlier productions, this film is grittier, realistic and has a greater impact on the viewer, not that earlier productions were lacking but they tended to focus more on the biography of Christ. Caviezel tries to make the viewer in some infinitesimal way experience what the pain of Crucifixion was.
It also portrays the different relationships Christ had with his disciples and the political struggles of the day.

The Passion of The Christ is a 2004 American epic Biblical drama film co-produced and directed by Mel Gibson from a screenplay he wrote with Benedict Fitzgerald.

Luke 23:44-46: “It was now about noon, and darkness came over the whole land until three in the afternoon, for the sun stopped shining. And the curtain of the temple was torn in two. Jesus called out with a loud voice, ‘Father, into your hands I commit my spirit.’ When he had said this, he breathed his last.”
It is said the exact date was Friday April 3rd, AD33, 3pm.
