Crumb disowned the film and sued to have his name removed.
Reason for Shadow Ban: America just wasn't ready for Animation to "grow up"
(it WAS released but with an X [Pre-NC-17] Rating effectivly banning it from "mainstream" cinemas relegating it to arthouses and midnight screenings)
