10 Days of Silence: Secret Service Knew of Trump Threat, Did Nothing

Butler, PA, July 12, 2025 — A newly released Senate report has uncovered a series of alarming failures by the U.S. Secret Service leading up to the attempted assassination of Donald Trump last year. According to the Government Accountability Office (GAO) report released by Sen. Chuck Grassley, the agency had advance knowledge—at least ten days prior—of a credible threat against then-candidate Trump but failed to inform its own agents on the ground or local law enforcement.

Fox News' Alexis McAdams, reporting live from Butler where the rally took place, highlighted that the lead Secret Service agent securing the site was new to large-scale events and unaware of which rooftops or vantage points needed to be covered. The agency now admits this was her first assignment of that magnitude.

Perhaps more shocking, the Secret Service drone assigned to monitor the event was inoperable, and the rookie operator had only received one hour of training. He was unable to troubleshoot the malfunction. Meanwhile, the shooter, Thomas Crooks, operated his own drone to scout the venue—something Trump’s team had warned about.

The family of rally attendee Cory Comparato, who was killed shielding others during the attack, is still seeking answers. As the one-year mark approaches, the lack of accountability weighs heavily.

Rep. Andy Biggs condemned the agency’s negligence in a statement:

“They knew Trump’s life was at risk for ten days. Ten days. And not only did they hide it from the ground agents—they refused Trump’s request for more protection. They didn’t have working surveillance, no drone coverage, no coordination. They put an inexperienced agent in charge. This wasn’t a lapse—it was systemic failure.”

Calls are mounting for a full investigation into how such lapses occurred, and whether political bias or internal dysfunction played a role in compromising Trump’s safety.

💥🦅 Justice for Cory. Accountability for Crooks. Truth for America. 🦅💥
