Somber Moon

Somber Moon is my first attempt at creating an album of music. Which means it is a complication of several of the songs that I first composed.
Admittedly I was very young and to be honest. I did not know that much about music theory. I just knew what felt right. Mostly from a few cover songs, and a very diverse taste of music.
At the time I only knew a handful of cover songs. When I got my first guitar at 16. I sat and played the 4 or 5 songs that I knew, to death. Most people would want to learn more cover songs. Not me, no, I wanted to play my own creations. Which meant I better start writing. So I wrote my first song, Spotlight. I’ve kept on writing.
Somber Moon 🌙 🌝 is the beginning of my exploration with song crafting. Realising that there are the common “rules” to composing. Verse, chorus, (Possibly) a bridge, I love my bridges, and tempo, but they are all more like guidelines.
The majority of these songs are very simple. They are merely the beginning of my exploration and understanding of the craft of “Song Creation”.
I admit that there is a very hippy feel to the entire album. Hence the name, Somber Moon. I thought it was appropriate
This album contains many expressions. Ones of wiccan spirituality, parenthood, attraction, bonds, growth, romance, questioning humanity, homage to inspirations, expressions of love. Ending with Spotlight. The first song I ever wrote.
I can honestly say that this is the beginning of my journey. In discovery of myself and the world that I exist in. I will let it speak for itself. With the understanding that everyone will have their own interpretations. I hope it will inspire good conversation, beep thoughts, and everything in between.
