Beyond Borders (2017)

Beyond Borders chronicles an incredible circumnavigation by Louis Cole (FunForLouis) and friend/pilot JP Schulze:

In August 2017, the duo embarked from Kern Valley, California, aboard a 1974 Cessna T210 (“Balloo”) .

Over ~90 days, they visited 22 countries across six continents, covering roughly 25,000 miles .

Their goals: celebrate diversity, bridge cultural divides, and show that shared humanity outweighs differences.

The flight included long-haul segments—some up to 10 hours over ocean—and challenging conditions like navigating weather systems in a small, unpressurized aircraft.

Along the way, Louis interviewed locals from refugees in Germany to Maoris in New Zealand and families in Pakistan, bringing empathy and cultural context to each stop.

The resulting film—edited from 200+ hours of footage—premiered in 2021 on Discovery+ and Prime Video as a feature-length special.
