Paul Appeals to Caesar to Escape a Deadly Plot

Now remember, Paul is actually aware of their intent to kill him. And I have no doubt Paul, being one who was in their ranks, knows full well that that intent did not just go away. And this is what they're actually doing. They're requesting this. So Paul said, I stand at Caesar's judgment seat. or Bema seat, where I ought to be judged. To the Jews I have done no wrong, as you very well know. For I am, or if I am an offender, one who does unrighteousness, or have committed anything deserving of death, I do not object to dying. But if there is nothing in these things of which these men have accused me, no one can deliver me to them, I appeal to Caesar." You see, it's interesting, and a little bit later as we go on through this with King Agrippa, we're going to see that it's like, well, Paul, he appealed to Caesar, so I can't release him. But you actually see the reason he appealed to Caesar, because if he didn't, they would have actually worked it out to where he'd have gone to Jerusalem and they would have killed him.
