Anti Foreigner "Protest" In Mexico Turns Ugly On Expats | Come to Southeast Asia Instead 🌏
🇺🇸 As an America-first expat who has always respected and admired the Mexican people and their beautiful culture, I never thought I’d see the day where American citizens—legally living in Mexico—would be targeted in the streets. But here we are.
What’s happening now in Mexico City—violent protests in Roma and Condesa, with mobs chanting things like “Kill a Gringo”, vandalizing businesses, and calling for Americans to leave—isn’t about gentrification. It’s about a broken, dysfunctional system lashing out at the easiest target: legal foreign residents.
Let’s get real. These protestors aren’t in front of the presidential palace. They’re not outside the cartel strongholds. They’re not confronting the corrupt leadership that actually created the housing crisis, or the cartels who run towns and terrorize locals. Why? Because they know what would happen—they’d be “disappeared” without a trace. It’s easier and safer to scream at Americans, especially when many of them are white, or presumed to be.
But here’s the truth: the digital nomads they’re attacking are not exploiting Mexico. They’re legally present, working remotely, not taking any Mexican jobs or resources, and spending their hard-earned dollars in the local economy. Some have even opened businesses and employed local workers.
Meanwhile, Mexico continues to use the U.S. as a welfare extension of its failed state—pushing millions of its poorest, least-educated citizens across our border, undercutting American working-class wages. We’re expected to take in the lowest tier of their society without question, while Americans who come to Mexico legally, peacefully, and with money are threatened and scapegoated?
It’s backward. And it’s shameful.
If you’re an American and you’ve had enough of being hated for being who you are or where you’re from—you have better options.
🌏 Southeast Asia is safer, more affordable, and more respectful. Countries like Vietnam, Cambodia, Indonesia, and the Philippines are offering real opportunities. If you mind your business, respect the local culture, and don’t get involved in their politics, you’ll be left alone to thrive. These nations understand that respectful, value-bringing foreigners are a net positive—not a threat.
Even Mexicans who are awake and have capital—if you’re tired of living under a corrupt narco-regime, if you’re tired of the class warfare and chaos, we can help you too. Come build your life in Southeast Asia. Bring your business, your family, your work ethic—and be somewhere that appreciates it.
It’s about respect. And when a country turns on the very people helping its economy while exporting its problems to its neighbor… it’s time to go.
