狩野正信が、2幅の草案を提出する。其の際狩野は「馬遠様も良いが、既に西指庵の画様が馬遠様なので、李龍眠様が良いのではないか」と意見を述べた。更に足利家所蔵の馬遠・李龍眠の絵を画様の参考に借りたい旨、及び図様の手本として、九品曼荼羅を取り寄せて欲しい事を要望した。
