Inside the Fire: What really happened at Gabriel House?

On the night of July 13, a fire tore through Gabriel House, an assisted living facility in Fall River, Massachusetts. Despite having fire alarms and sprinklers installed, the flames spread quickly. Within minutes, 9 residents—many of whom were elderly and unable to move on their own—lost their lives. Over 30 others were injured. Survivors described thick smoke, locked doors, and confusion in the hallways.
The facility passed safety inspections. But when the fire came, who was actually there to help?

A few things I found that could actually help in case of an emergency – especially for seniors:
✅ Smoke & CO Detector (placed near the bed):

✅ Wireless Call Button (easy to press, no Wi-Fi needed):

These aren't expensive, but in some cases, they could make all the difference.
