Voices of Freedom: The Declaration of Independence Read Aloud in Boston
On July 4th in the heart of Boston, where revolution once stirred cobblestones and hearts alike, citizens gathered to hear the Declaration of Independence read from the balcony of the Old State House—just as it was in 1776.
This is the full ceremony, presented with burned-in captions to ensure every word is clear and accessible. It features the Middlesex County Volunteer Fife and Drum Corps, members of the Ancient and Honorable Artillery Company of Massachusetts, and other local reenactors honoring the original spirit of America’s founding.
🇺🇸 Filmed and edited by The Wise Old Bat, this version preserves not only the performance, but the solemnity and power of the words that launched a nation.
👂Watch. Reflect. Remember that liberty is not inherited—it is maintained.
