The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt – Part Forty-One | "Truth cuts deeper than any blade or beast."
Resonance brewed and visions clear, Regis and I followed a scent a bootblack, clever beyond his years. The boy knew Dettlaff, cleaned his boots, and delivered them to an abandoned toy shop. We found it his hideout and more: Dettlaff was no simple killer. He was blackmailed, his beloved held hostage. Regis stayed behind to await Dettlaff. I sought answers elsewhere.
I met with Duchess Anna Henrietta to reveal the truth: this wasn’t a monster hunt, but a tangled knot of schemes and coercion. She agreed tracking the blackmailer took priority. Our only clue? A rare ducal wine: Sangreal. We traced a missing barrel to a Cintrian noble, but he slipped our ambush, leaving only his hired thugs to take the beating.
One brigand talked. The Cintrian wasn’t acting alone. A larger crew backed him, well-organized. He was to appear at a Mandragora soirée, hiding in plain sight among Beauclair’s finest artists, poets, pretenders. Anna Henrietta and I slipped in, trading words and watching closely.
We found tragedy. Cecilia Bellante, famed singer and guest, was murdered. The Cintrian aimed not just to seduce or blend in he came to steal the Heart of Toussaint, a priceless ducal jewel. He died in the attempt, but left behind a clue: Dun Tynne Castle.
There, I’ll face his allies… and maybe Syanna, the duchess’ long-lost sister, a woman shrouded in fire and mystery. This tale’s gotten deeper than blood or blade. I just hope we’re not too late.
The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt is the groundbreaking installment in CD PROJEKT RED’s acclaimed series following the legendary witcher, Geralt of Rivia. After multiple delays, the game was officially released on May 19, 2015, and made an immediate impact. Selling over 4 million copies in just two weeks, more than doubling the total sales of its predecessor, The Witcher 2: Assassins of Kings.
Unlike the previous entries, The Witcher 3 takes place in a sprawling multi-region open world, offering over 100 hours of content across dynamic landscapes. Inspired by the scale of games like Skyrim but over 20% larger the developers aimed to refine the open-world experience by learning from industry benchmarks while addressing their shortcomings.
Powered by the cutting-edge REDengine 3, the game was built with extensive fan feedback in mind. As always, player choices carry weight, shaping the narrative in significant and sometimes unexpected ways. This is not just a sequel. It’s a full evolution of the Witcher saga.
