07.13.25 "Not On My Watch (Take 2)"
I often remind myself that I have access to all the power in the universe and there is nothing I cannot do. This applies not just in Heaven or in Reality, but NOW while I perceive myself to be on earth as well. We read this is a recent Workbook Lesson. "You who perceive yourself as weak and frail, with futile hopes and devastated dreams, born but to die, to weep, and suffer pain, hear this: all power is given you in earth and Heaven. There is nothing that you cannot do." (WkBk.191.11) That's not telling us we have "some power" or even "a lot of power." It's telling us that we have "ALL POWER." There is no power in the entire universe that we do not command.
It is challenging to think of ourselves that way. Even in Heaven or Reality we may believe we will be very powerful, but surely the Creator, God, will have GREATER power. "No." We will have all the same power God has. No sense taking our problems to God then. Might as well just take them to ourselves. Even now we have the same power God has, which is ALL power, and that power has dominion even here in what we perceive to be the physical universe.
When people project negatively into the future about dire and tragic scenarios, I will often tell them not to be concerned about those possibilities because I am not going to allow those things to happen. I will say, "Not on my watch." "Your holiness reverses all the laws of the world. It is beyond every restriction of time, space, distance, and limits of any kind. Your holiness is totally unlimited in its power ... And there is nothing the power of God cannot do." (WkBk.38.1) People have been predicting the approaching Armageddon my whole life: "Armageddon: a dramatic and catastrophic conflict, typically seen as likely to destroy the world or the human race." They're still doing it, still predicting Armageddon.
There are even many ACIM students who do this. I often wonder what book they are reading. The book I am reading tells us that we can overcome all the worries of the world because we have accepted Jesus' plan and thus share in his overcoming. "In this world you need not have tribulation because I have overcome the world." (Tx.4.22) This is not metaphor; this is not allegory. This is a statement of truth. I am reminded of this quotation as well, "Once you accept His plan as the one function that you would fulfill, there will be nothing else the Holy Spirit will not arrange for you without your effort. – He will go before you making straight your path and leaving in your way no stones to trip on and no obstacles to bar your way." (Tx.20.35-36) Armageddon would be a very big obstacle.
Stop worrying about ... WHATEVER. I'm not going to allow THAT to happen. "Not on my watch!"
