The 6.8 Remington Special Purpose Cartridge was one of the first cartridges to challenge the status quo of the dominant 5.56 NATO round in military service. With the United States Army finally moving toward the 6.8x51mm (.277 Fury) common cartridge, I thought it was time to discuss the previous 6.8 cartridge, which was unsuccessful.
