Wife and I were newly minted followers of Christ. What I grew up, in my deeply Christian spiritual family, what learning I had was pretty much gone.

We broke with our old lifestyle. As a result we had a lot of our friends drop us. One woman, both of us had known for at least ten years said.
“Well, I guess it can happen to the best of us.”
As though we had caught the plague.

This simple so was an inspiration to me then and more so now that I have deeper understanding of the scriptures.
