In a major escalation, the IDF carried out a series of powerful airstrikes on Syria’s general staff command building in Damascus, as seen in dramatic live television footage.

Earlier, a warning strike was launched at the building’s entrance. Defense Minister Israel Katz then issued a clear ultimatum: Syrian forces must withdraw from the Druze-majority city of Sweida, where intense clashes have erupted — or face intensified Israeli strikes.

The IDF has confirmed it struck the military headquarters directly, marking one of its most significant operations in Damascus to date.
