Elite Dangerous Panther Problems

While the Panther Clipper Mk II boasts a staggering 10 hardpoints, early footage and live gameplay have revealed a serious problem: several of the hardpoints appear to fire directly through the ship’s own geometry. That’s right—turrets and fixed weapons, especially those mounted mid-ship and on the lower hull, are visually clipping through bulkheads and nacelles when firing.

This not only breaks immersion for commanders who enjoy cinematic builds and realism but also creates uncertainty around projectile convergence, potential blind spots, and whether these placements will impact PvP or turret AI tracking efficiency.

Community feedback has already flagged this on the Frontier forums and Reddit, with many players calling for a fix to the hardpoint animations and placements before full release on July 22nd. Whether it’s a visual bug or a deeper structural issue, it’s currently the biggest criticism of the otherwise impressive Panther Clipper Mk II.
