The Rant-Boundaries of Belonging?
Immigration is often seen as a movement of individuals or groups seeking new opportunities, safety, or a better life in a foreign land. However, an increasingly vocal perspective challenges this traditional view, positing that a mass influx of people unwilling or actively refusing to adopt the fundamental culture, beliefs, and laws of the United States moves beyond mere immigration and enters the realm of an "invasion." This perspective stems from a profound concern for national identity, social cohesion, and the concept of sovereignty. A nation is not merely a geographical territory defined by lines on a map, but a collective entity bound by shared history, common values, a dominant culture, and a unified legal framework. If newcomers arrive with an explicit or implicit intent to maintain parallel legal systems, reject established societal norms, or actively promote beliefs that are fundamentally antithetical to the host culture, it is perceived as an undermining of this bedrock.
