On June 29, 2025, a terrifying incident unfolded at the 206 Smoke Shop on State Road 206 East in St. Augustine, Florida, when 31-year-old Theodore Michael Tundidor attempted to kidnap an 18-year-old female employee after robbing the store. Surveillance footage captured Tundidor dragging the victim, Emma Marine, in a headlock toward a stolen gray Toyota Tacoma pickup truck while she screamed for help. The St. Johns County Sheriff’s Office (SJSO) reported that Tundidor had stolen merchandise, including THCa cigarettes and a vape worth approximately $270, before attempting to abduct Marine when she tried to intervene.

Marine, motivated by fear fought back fiercely, screaming and resisting as Tundidor tried to force her into the vehicle. Her actions attracted a nearby citizen who intervened, prompting Tundidor to abandon the kidnapping and flee.

The Good Samaritan called 911, alerting authorities. Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation (FWC) officers later spotted Tundidor driving recklessly near Marineland on A1A. After a brief pursuit, he was apprehended and charged with kidnapping, robbery, grand theft auto, driving under the influence, and fleeing law enforcement.
