Maybe a little bit of both. It certainly seams suspicious that shortly after Stephen Colbert comments on a 16 million dollar settlement with Donald Trump. His job disappears! But more likely, Paramount has been suffering from falling income for a while now, and is seeking to pivot towards the actual wider audience, the normal people of America. A change Colbert would have been likely to fight tooth and nail... Maybe The View is next? As Disney and Bob Iger have already rattled the sabers over there too.
