Building exotic tesla coils

The idea behind this bipolar tesla coil was to have one side high electricity and the other magnetic. Because it isn't well known how each one is done. I decided to make several of these coils for testing. One question was: Is it better to keep the winding going or to split it and space and allow a dielectric field form between them? Also what it the difference in AC or DC in this coil?
