Job part 4

The next installment of the lessons of/Book of Job. And the ending of the 3 "friends" here to help Job through his entire world being shattered, to include his wife.

It is the silence of God which hurts Job the most.

A long time ago, when I was in rehab for alcoholism and drug addiction- but primarily alcohol was the biggest destructor in my life and everything else was just part of "the world" I was living in- one of my friends at the table said something that struck me profoundly, and has always stayed with me. Now- I am not Job haha, noooo I have done/and HAD done a whole life's work of garbage to get me into that rehab, the reasons I was there was NOT due to Satan's machinations- the faults were mine fo sho- but it wasn't a candy-assed rehab either but a 6 months, VERY intensive, all inpatient program I had wanted for myself. And I was there to confront my alcoholism, and with God's help "master my sin." At least this major portion of it. I didn't drink to get drunk - I drank for oblivion. And the point I had come to was sobriety or death.

During an AA meeting He said-
"Sometimes you're just walking through the desert."
That really struck me to my core. He went on to expound-
"head down, no water, hot, dry thirsty...
just one foot in front of the other, with little idea of when or how it will end."
"Sometimes you're just walking through the desert..."

That has never left me. Now, I have forgotten it, misapplied it, and at times twisted it. But it has not left me. I find them very wise words to keep in remembrance.

The WORLD right now, feels a bit like walking through the desert to me-

«But those who wait on the LORD Shall renew their strength; They shall mount up with wings like eagles, They shall run and not be weary, They shall walk and not faint.»

The Book of ISAIAH 40:31
