Under the I-10 Bridge

The plan was to use the DJI-Air 3 FocusTrack capability to follow a few tugs and barges up and down the Mississippi River at Baton Rouge. But nothing was moving on the river. So it was time for JD to do something he's always wanted to do: fly under the I-10 bridge.

First, he got a good 4K look at the Union Trader, a ship tied up at the port. A ship named like that would probably not have been allowed to dock there during the first year or two of the Civil War, but times have changed for the better.

Then we ducked the Air 3 under the Interstate bridge, turned around, and headed home. The bridge is 175 feet above the water, so there was plenty of room. It would be much more exciting (but illegal) in a manned aircraft. Conversely, it would likely be illegal for JD to fly his drone over it unless there was no traffic on it.
