Jen and Jeff Trimbath Discuss Court Battles for Parental Rights & 1st Amendment Protections
The discussion with my guest focuses on several monumental decisions affecting family, faith and freedom in Maryland. The first is the SCOTUS decision on the parental rights in the Montgomery County, MD case, Mahmoud v. Taylor that went onto the Supreme Court. The other big breakthrough was in the IRS administrative decision based on a lawsuit and settlement with another Montgomery County, MD family regarding the ability to speak about politics in faith-based organizations without the fear of retribution and risking an organization's 501(c)3 status.
Statement: Maryland Family Institute Applauds SCOTUS Ruling on Parental Rights
Annapolis, MD — (MFI) The Maryland Family Institute celebrates today’s Supreme Court ruling on Mahmoud v. Taylor as a major victory for Maryland families and for common sense.
The following statements are in response to the decision from the Supreme Court of the United States and can be attributed to Jeff Trimbath, President of Maryland Family Institute.
“This is a win for Maryland families—and for common sense. As we made clear in our brief to the Court, and the majority opinion, affirmed, the Pride Storybooks push normative claims about gender and sexuality that contradict the core teachings of many faiths. Today’s decision reaffirms that parents—not public schools—have the final say regarding when and how their children are introduced to these topics.”
