AOTR Elevates George Retes

Authors of The Resistance is Elevating the story of George Retes, a 25-year-old military veteran whose life was violently upended during the recent immigration raids near Camarillo, California. George, who has served his country with honor, and was transitioning back to civilian life, was caught in the chaos of the mid-July 2025 raids.

Despite his honorable service and legal residency, George was detained, injured, and subjected to brutal tactics by federal agents.

George’s story is a harrowing example of how militarized enforcement strategies can endanger even those who have sacrificed deeply for this country.
