Aussiecams - TESLA camera captures another driver damaging car - RYE Victoria

Here we have a parked tesla vehicle in a carpark in Rye Victoria. For those unaware, tesla vehicles have a number of onboard cameras recording 24/7.
Having watched this a number of times we feel this is a deliberate act of vandalism/malicious damage, there is more than sufficient room between the cars and the driver makes no attempt to secure door when opening.
The owner contacts local Police. There is clear vision of the number plate and person involved. After reviewing all evidence provided to them and interviewing the person involved the Police decide they will not be proceeding with any charge against the driver ruling the incident as an 'accident' or 'malicious' leaving the owner to foot the bill for the damage or go through insurance.
We understand this is not a large amount of damage or anything like that, its the principal that the owner has clear evidence yet nothing can or will be done about it by authorities.

From tesla owner - The senior constable was very kind and helpful, and was impressed with the quality of my footage. He said they could not prove beyond doubt that the driver was malicious, regardless of his personal view.
