FHFA Dir. Bill Pulte: No One Has a Better Pulse on Main Street America than President Trump

PAYNE: “Listen, when banks and CEOs said they like the Fed, I don’t know if that should help or hurt them. Because I’m the average person, I’m saying of course CEOs love them, look at their profit margins, look at their money they’re making, right? So, it seems like the big question is Main Street. I don’t think Main Street is happy with this Federal Reserve.”

PULTE: “Well, and there’s nobody who has a better pulse on Main Street than President Trump. President Trump, in my opinion, has the best instincts in the world, and that’s not just because I work for him. I mean, you just look at his instincts. He knows what he’s doing, and when it comes to Jerome Powell, he’s dead-on about this. Let me just tell you, Charles, you know, I have a big Twitter following, just like yourself, and President Trump’s critiques of Jerome Powell are some of the most viral things that I’ve ever seen go on the internet. People are upset, people are angry, people are sick and tired of paying for these credit card rates that are not commensurate with inflation. Jerome Powell sees inflation where it doesn’t even exist. It’s like, he goes into a room, he sees a ghost, he says I see a ghost and nobody else sees the ghost, which is that tariffs cause inflation. This guy is a bad guy. I’ve never said that before, but he is. He’s a bad guy. And, you know, I think there’s going to be more coming out that’s going to be evidence of that.”
