Curious Chipmunk explores the bonfire

This cute little Chipmunk was very brave and came for a visit while these campers sat around their bonfire. Roasting marshmallows over an open fire is a huge pastime for many campers, and while doing his best to create the ultimate roasted marshmallow, one melted and fell into the fire. This cute Chipmunk must have the keenest nose for treats, for he was searching all around the fire pit ring. You can see the curiosity building for this little guy, but he was very cautious getting too close to the very hot metal ring. The North American Chipmunk , baring stripes down its back, is a member of the squirrel family. Weighing only a few ounces, they are tiny, yet adorably cute creatures. Also very inquisitive, this tiny fellow searched the campground site for other snacks, but settled for a lonely marshmallow this day .
