What is Born Again?

John 3:6 “That which is born of the flesh is flesh, and that which is born of the Spirit is spirit.”

The Heart (soul)

Genesis 6:5 “And God saw that the wickedness of man was great in the earth and that every imagination of the thoughts of his heart was only evil continually.”

 Heart [H 3820]: inner man, mind, will. Some call the conscience or seat of the Soul.

 Evil [H 7451]: malignant, malignant boils, diseases, an unclean thing, unpleasing in the eyes of God.

Jeremiah 17:9 “ The heart is deceitful above all things and desperately wicked: who can know it?”

 Desperately wicked [H 605 (9x)]: Beyond cure, incurable, desperately sick, woefully sick beyond cure. It is a concept that theologians call “total depravity.”
