Delta Pilot Performed Aggressive Maneuver Avoiding Collision With B2-Bomber

What could have happened here that almost caused a fatal disaster with a B52 bomber colliding into a Delta passenger plane?
When Delta plane was approaching it's landing, at Mayot, North Dakota airport, a B-52 bomber unexpectedly entered the flight path, according to the pilot. The pilot told passengers that he was never given any warning by air traffic
controllers about the B-52's location.
After landing, the pilot apologizing to passengers about the close call, told them, "Nobody told us we had company up here. This is not normal."
Maynot does have an Air Force base uh near the commercial airport.
