The price of tomatoes and tomato products across the country could be on its way up. This week, President Donald Trump announced that a 17% tariff will be in place for tomatoes from Mexico. This ended a decades-long agreement to control the price of importing them.

Smith Tomato Farm in Steele is a large operation. It has 120 acres of tomato crops and produces about 10 million tomatoes every year. The farm said this move from Washington could be the most important step taken in decades to save American farms.
