The Clarion Call reacts to Ren's "Vincents Tale-Sunflower (Prologue)" Who is Vincent?

It's been a while since I reacted to a Ren song, but this little teaser video was too compelling to ignore. I can't think of another artist working today who can do it all like Ren.

In his productions, he not only sings beautifully, writes the music and the video screenplay, but he also directs the video and acts– A modern day tour de force!

I have watched a number of reactions to this video, and was quite surprised that most reactors failed to make the obvious connection that this song was inspired by the famous Dutch artist Vincent Van Gogh (1853-1890.)

The clues are abundant including the striking resemblance of one of the actors to Van Gogh. Also the reference to Sunflowers in the title and the image of Sunflowers on fire in the video is again a reference to some of van Gogh's most well-known series of still life works.

As I mention in the video, before recording this I also wrote a Substack article about the fact that reactors were missing this connection titled, "Has the world forgotten Vincent?" The link for that is here:

By the way, this is not the first song about Van Gogh. Don McLean (of American Pie fame) had a minor hit with a song titled "Vincent in 1972. Here is a link to that song which includes both the lyrics and a lot of Van Gogh paintings:
