Head On Collision, 1 Hospitalized, BLANCHARD, July 21, 2025 - At approximately 8:29 am on July 21, 2025, the driver of a white GMC pickup (names not yet released), was west-bound on FM-3126 (right down from RB Lake Grocery). As the driver was about to pass Mangum Road, the driver of a black older model GMC truck (pulling a trailer with a backhoe) swerved into the west-bound lane causing a head on collision. The black GMC went into a front yard where it came to rest, while the white GMC came to rest on the pavement. Allegiance Ambulance Service was dispatched to the scene along with the Scenic Loop Volunteer Fire Department, Deputies from the Polk County Sheriff's Office, and Trooper Sean Barnes with The Texas Highway Patrol. What happened is the driver of the black pickup was apparently distracted when he noticed a vehicle in front of him waiting to make a left turn onto Mangum Road. The driver of the black pickup was coming too fast and slammed on his brakes to avoid a collision, and he swerved into the west-bound lane causing the head on collision. Traffic was blocked during investigation and cleanup. The driver of the white GMC was transported from the scene by ambulance with undisclosed injuries. The driver of the black GMC was physically okay. The driver of the black pickup is likely facing a citation for causing the accident. The white GMC was recovered by Ken's Towing and will be stored in Livingston, while the black pickup was recovered by Pop's Wrecker Service out of Livingston. This accident remains under investigation by The Texas Highway Patrol. PolkCountyToday.com will update this story when more information is made available.

Special thank you: Ken with Ken's Towing
