Honor the Lord

We all been told to test whatever we hear with the Bible. This is one illustration explaining how to test whatever we hear with scripture.
We’ve all heard people try to explain:
2Pe 1:20 Above all, you must realize that no prophecy in Scripture ever came from the prophet's own understanding,
2Pe 1:21 or from human initiative. No, those prophets were moved by the Holy Spirit, and they spoke from God.
Peter was explaining how a prophecy David wrote was fulfilled. Without reading that prophecy, no one is able to explain 10% of what Peter was explaining by saying, “no prophecy in Scripture ever came from the prophet's own understanding.”
The meaning is much deeper and easier to understand than what you’ve ever been taught by any mere human.
