Shine On, My Way

Shine On, My Way

When the night feels cold and long,
And I forget where I belong,
I close my eyes and see the flame,
A whisper calling out my name.

I don’t need a reason why,
This light in me was born to fly.

Shine on, my way —
Through every shadow, I will stay.
No one can dim what burns so bright,
I carry my own kind of light.
No matter what the people say,
I was made to shine my way.

I’ve been told to tone it down,
To shrink my fire, wear their crown.
But I’m not here to fade or bend,
I’m here to glow, to rise, transcend.

Every crack has let light in,
Now it pours out from my skin.

Shine on, my way —
Through every shadow, I will stay.
No one can dim what burns so bright,
I carry my own kind of light.
No matter what the people say,
I was made to shine my way.

Let the sky be wide and wild,
Let them laugh — I’ll still smile.
Even storms can’t wash me out,
I’m made of fire, not of doubt.

Shine on, my way —
Through the fear, I will not sway.
I was born to stand, not sway,
To turn the dark into my day.
No matter how the world may sway,
I will shine…
Shine on, my way.
