EXPLAINING THE MARK OF A MUSLIM – A Symbol of Piety, Devotion & Belonging

Muslims don’t believe in symbology. But with time certain societies and their traditions have led to the introduction of myth and iconography that is outside of faith. One element that is relatively new is the Zebiba, a physical consequential condition that appears on the foreheads of devout and pious Muslims, a darkening and callusing of the skin that confronts all those who look upon the face of these Muslims who also happen to carry this mark with pride.

This video explains the full range of reasonings for the appearance of the Zebiba. How environment as a physical cause as well as environment as a societal cause can both be as effective and viable as reasons for the formation of the prayer callus that is the Zebiba.
