This lesson explains why God prohibited yeast in the Passover. The use of yeast in bread making was a highly religious activity in Egypt, invoking the deity Heka, the god of magic. YHWH wanted to ensure that the Israelites removed any pagan practices from their life. We also discussed the Shema and its requirements for the remembrance of God's commands via the clothing Israelites were commanded to wear.
