What’s goin’ on SGT Rock Army!? Summer is comin’ round the bend and Fall’ll be here in no time. We’re kickin off August with a great memory of our time stationed in Germany. We got to talkin about the car’s we’d owned when we were stationed in the Army in the 90s. One car stood out. Edgar, Jackalope’s Volkswagen Scirocco…King of the “Triple Threat, Lord of the Schwimmbad, Landlord of the Basement, The Prince of Tompkins Barracks, just to name a few, that car to us was the car to beat. Jackalope, our BrotherfromanotherMother’s pride and joy. Edgar wasn’t the best lookin car but never judge a book by its cover. Our homie kept that ride in racing shape. When we started our run to The Basement outside of Mannheim, Edgar was the King of the Triple Crown. That car is the record holder. 37 titles. A dynasty. Going to Garmisch, Germany in the middle of the winter, no problem, Autobahn 7 never stood a chance! One thing that Edgar had in it, a killer sound system. You knew we were inbound about a quarter mile before we got there. And then…well, all good things come to an end. Jackalope done got himself married and let Edgar go to a German national. I wonder whatever happened to that car. Wherever you are Edgar, we love and miss you, man! – The Veterans of Hill 30
